Taxes – The Awful Truth!

First I thought this was funny…then I realized the awful truth of it. Be sure to read all the way to the end! Just amazing!

Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table
At which he’s fed.

Tax his tractor,
Tax his mule,
Teach him taxes
Are the rule.

Tax his work,
Tax his pay,
He works for peanuts

Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.

Tax his ties,
Tax his shirt,
Tax his work,
Tax his dirt.

Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he
Tries to think.

Tax his cigars,
Tax his beers,
If he cries
Tax his tears.

Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax his a–.

Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won’t be done
Till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers,
Then tax him more,
Tax him till
He’s good and sore.

Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in
Which he’s laid.

Put these words
upon his tomb,
‘Taxes drove me to my doom…’

When he’s gone,
Do not relax,
It’s time to apply
The inheritance tax.

I hope this goes around THE USA at least 100 times!!!!! YOU can help it get there!!!!

  1. Kathie Says:

If there were no school taxes 100 years ago how did we pay for education? I think there was a minor skirmish fought over the “whiskey” tax and I believe that was over 100 years ago. I believe that toll roads existed in colonial and early American times. One paid a fee (tax) to cross a river, drive on a road etc.

While there may be more and greater taxes than ever before it is not correct to say we had no taxes 100 years ago. If a society hopes to continue, the government must provide for safety and stability. How do you pay for that if not through taxation?

  2. brandy1602 Says:

America used to be one of the most richest countries and has a stable economy but look at it now, they even have turn to one of their rival countries for financial assistance. Ironic isn’t it?
