Catching Wild Pigs – What the Government is doing to us!

February 9, 2011

A chemistry professor in a large college had some exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab the Professor noticed one young man (exchange student) who kept rubbing his back, and stretching as if his back hurt.

The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country’s government and install a new communist government.

In the midst of his story he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked, ‘Do you know how to catch wild pigs?’

The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The young man said this was no joke. ‘You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come everyday to eat the free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side. The pigs, who are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat, you slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd.

Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity.

The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening to America. The government keeps pushing us toward socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tobacco subsidies, welfare, medicine, drugs, etc… While we continually lose our freedoms — just a little at a time.

One should always remember: There is no such thing as a free lunch! Also, a politician will never provide a service for you cheaper than you can do it yourself.

Also, if you see that all of this wonderful government ‘help’ is a problem confronting the future of democracy in America; you might want to send this on to your friends. If you think the free ride is essential to your way of life then you will probably delete this email, but God help you when the gate slams shut!

“A government big enough to give you everything you want, is big enough to take away everything you have.”   Thomas Jefferson

Mortimer Zuckerman on President Obama

March 3, 2010

Correction: This post is a copy of an article written by Paul R. Hollrah, however the article is not attributed to him. Mr. Hollrah’s name was left off the post. The first sentence of the article, however, begins, “In a January 20, 2010 editorial, the Editor in Chief of U.S. News & World Report, Mortimer Zuckerman, had this to say:….” This sentence, in conjunction with the fact that the copy of the article is not properly attributed to Mr. Hollrah, leaves the reader with the false impression that Mr. Zuckerman wrote the entire post that follows. Mr. Hollrah quotes Mr. Zuckerman for the first few sentences, but the remainder of the article was written by Mr. Hollrah.

[Thank you to U.S. News for bringing this to my attention.]

An interesting editorial, not from Fox News or Rush Limbaugh, but from Mortimer Zuckerman of U.S. News. The tide is turning.

THE LIBERAL WRITTEN MEDIA IS BEGINNING TO FLIP ON OBAMA.  FROM THEIR LIPS AND PENS TO GOD’S EARS!!!

Mortimer Zuckerman is the Editor in Chief of the U S News and World Report.

He was a supporter of Barack Obama during his run for the Presidency. This is a staggering appraisal of the President’s first year in office – coming from someone who supported President Obama.

In a January 20, 2010 editorial, the Editor in Chief of U.S. News & World Report, Mortimer Zuckerman, had this to say:

“Obama’s ability to connect with voters is what launched him.  But what has surprised me is how he has failed to connect with the voters since he’s been in office.”

“He’s had so much overexposure.  You have to be selective.  He was doing five Sunday shows.  How many press conferences?  And now people stop listening to him…  He’s lost his audience.  He has not rallied public opinion.  He has plunged in the polls more than any other public figure since we’ve been using polls.  He’s done everything wrong. Well, not everything, but the major things… I don’t consider it a triumph.  I consider it a disaster.”  And that’s what his friends are saying about him.

As the president occupied the White House on January 20, 2009 it was predictable that his presidency would last a year, at most, because the things he promised and the things he stood for were so uniquely un-American. Looking back over his year in office, any reasonably precocious fourth grader could make a cogent argument in opposition to nearly everything he’s done. In fact, his policies have been so extreme and so far outside the mainstream that he was destined to achieve the most spectacular fall from grace of any American president in history.  It was easy to see him serving out the final three years of his term as a virtual exile in the White House… afraid to venture out among any but the most rabid partisans.

Seeing his most ambitious initiative, healthcare reform, die in the flames of the Massachusetts Massacre, Obama made a hastily-planned “sortie” to Ohio for yet another Bush-bashing, self-aggrandizing stump speech on job creation.  It was vintage Obama… full of left wing hyperbole and planted questions from the Kool-Ade drinkers in the hand-picked audience… but there were just two things wrong with it: 1) Almost everything he said was either wrong or an outright lie, and 2) He is so overexposed that no one in the television audience really wanted to see him.  Obama Kool-Ade drinkers in the media, and elsewhere, like to describe Obama as a “very bright man, a true intellectual (compared to George W. Bush and Sarah Palin, of course).”  If that is the case, why has he demonstrated such a great inability to learn from his failures?

The strident words and the in-your-face attitude of his Ohio speech were proof that he has totally misread the meaning of the Scott Brown victory in Massachusetts. Whatever hopes and dreams he had for his time in the White House, whatever grandiose plans he had for transforming the United States from a constitutional republic with a free market economy into a socialist dictatorship with a centrally planned economy, were all lost on Tuesday, January 19, 2010… one day short of a full year in office. Yet, he appears to have learned nothing from the experience.

In the context of 21st century American politics, and assuming that he has any capacity at all for honest self-examination, Obama must be feeling today very much like a pair of brown shoes at a black tie soirée. When a politically naïve and totally inexperienced young black man, with a glib tongue and an exceptional ability to read words convincingly from a teleprompter, announced that he was ready to serve as President of the United States, liberals and Democrats saw it as a perfect opportunity to expiate whatever white guilt they may have felt… which was apparently considerable among those on the political left.   It didn’t seem to bother them that, as one pundit has remarked, “every time he walks into a room he is the least experienced and the least qualified man in the room.”

Nevertheless, his friends in the worldwide socialist movement and the international banking community figured out how to smuggle hundreds of millions of dollars in illegal campaign funds into the country, the black community rallied to his banner, and American liberals and the mainstream media jumped on board the bandwagon. Together, they made it happen for him.  But now, just one year later, Obama appears destined to become the unhappiest man in American politics…

What we do know about Obama is that, since his teen years, he has been mentored by, gravitated toward, and surrounded by the most dangerous sort of America-hating socialists, communists, and Marxists… from Frank Marshall Davis and Saul Alinsky to Weather Underground terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, to Rev. Jeremiah Wright, George Soros, and countless radical left college professors.

What destines Obama for the top spot on the list of unhappiest American politicians… aside from the failure of his economic recovery program, the failure of his radical cap-and-trade proposal, his failed attempt to give labor bosses unprecedented power to intimidate blue collar workers, and his ill-fated attempt at healthcare reform… is the fact that he carries on his shoulders the hopes and aspirations of every black child in America.  It is unfortunate that, because he is so far outside the American mainstream, and because he carries so much hatred in his heart for the country he seeks to lead, his failures will be viewed by generations of black children, not as the failure of a black socialist attempting to bring down a constitutional republic, but simply as the failure of a black man.

He is simply the wrong man, in the wrong job, in the wrong country, at the wrong time in history.

The Truth of what is happening in Haiti

January 31, 2010

Sad news about Haiti – the truth can not find its way out due to the liberal media. This news from a friend of mine, whom I trust to have written the truth of what is going on in Haiti. The wealthy stayed in concrete buildings and were crushed, while the poor lived in shacks and survived!!!   If you visit 3rd world countries, stay in the wood buildings and you have a better chance at survival.

Thanks John for the Truth about Haiti.

Looks like we are getting “FILTERED NEWS” as usual…

To All,

I just returned from Haiti with Hebler. We flew in at 3 AM Sunday to the scene of such incredible destruction on one side, and enormous ineptitude and criminal neglect on the other.

Port au Prince is in ruins. The rest of the country is fairly intact. Our team was a rescue team and we carried special equipment that locates people buried under the rubble.  There are easily 200,000 dead; the city smells like a charnel house.

The bloody UN was there for 5 years, doing apparently nothing but wasting US Taxpayers money. The ones I ran into were either incompetents or outright anti-American. Most are French or French speakers; worthless every damn one of them. While 1,800 rescuers were ready, willing and able to leave the airport and go do our jobs, the UN and USAID (another organization full of little OBamites and communists that openly speak out against Americans) These two organizations exemplified their parochialism by:

  • USAID, when in control of all inbound flights, had food and water flights stacked up all the way to Miami, yet allowed Geraldo Rivera, Anderson Cooper and a host of other left wing news puppies to land.
  • Pulled all the security off the rescue teams so that Bill Clinton and his wife could have the grand tour, whilst we sat unable to get to people trapped in the rubble.
  • Stacked enough food and water for the relief over at the side of the airfield then put a guard on it while we dehydrated and wouldn’t release a drop of it to the rescuers.
  • No shower facilities to decontaminate after digging or moving corpses all day, except for the FEMA teams who brought their own shower and decon equipment, as well as air conditioned tents.
  • No latrine facilities, less digging a hole, everyone was trying to use it.
  • I watched a 25 year old Obamite with the USAID shrieking hysterically; berate a full bird colonel in the air force, because he countermanded her orders, whilst trying to unscrew the air pattern… “You don’t know what your president wants! The military isn’t in charge here we are!”

If any of you are thinking of giving money to the Haitian relief, or to the UN don’t waste your money. It will only go to further the goals of the French and the Liberal left.

If we are a fair and even society, why is it that only white couples are adopting Haitian orphans? Where the hell is that vocal minority that is always screaming about the injustice of American society?

Bad place, bad situation, but a perfect look at the new world order in action. New Orleans magnified a thousand times. Haiti doesn’t need democracy, what Haiti needs is Papa Doc. That’s not just my opinion; that is what virtually every Haitian we talked with said. “The French run, the UN treat us the same as when we were a colony”, at least Papa Doc ran the country.

Oh, and as a last slap in the face the last four of us had to take US AIRWAYS home from Phoenix. They slapped me with a $590 dollar baggage charge for the four of us. The girl at the counter was almost in tears because she couldn’t give us a discount or she would lose her job… Pass that on to the flying public.
